I’m a UK based media composer and samplist*.

My background is being part of the first wave of Drum & Bass, and Breakbeat in the UK in the 90s. I cut my teeth as an “applied” media-composer not by going to music college, but instead by writing music for porn films.

The factory on the hill near where I lived was the BBC, all my friends got jobs there and when they heard I was “working to picture” they fed me work. That’s how it all started…

*What is a samplist?

When I started out as a composer the commercial sound and sample libraries available to work with were beyond my financial reach so I started to make my own. Since then I’ve been involved in making all the sounds I use.

I started to share these with other composers and to-date it is estimated over 4 million music makers have downloaded them.

Needless to say I still like to create my own private stash to make productions I work on special.

My approach is compositionally traditional; combining strong themes that assist in whatever way I can to help tell the story. Coupled with a no-holds-barred (and where appropriate, novel) approach to production to ensure I deliver something fresh and unique to every project I’m asked to work on.
